The FAC system requires that the Auditor and Auditee Certifying Official have separate email addresses.
This is to ensure a clear separation of roles and prevent one individual from certifying both sides of the audit, which would violate the independence principle under Uniform Guidance.
Why this matters:
The system checks for duplicate email addresses between the auditor and auditee certification roles.
If the same email is entered for both roles, the system will show an error and prevent submission.
What to do:
Assign distinct individuals to each role.
Make sure each person uses their own email address when completing certification.
If you need help updating the contact information or reassigning roles, contact the FAC Helpdesk.
