This error means that one or more finding references listed in the Federal Awards tab do not match any of the references listed in your Audit Findings tab.
Each finding reference must:
Be listed only once in the Audit Findings tab.
Be referenced accurately in the Federal Awards tab.
To fix the error:
Open your Excel file.
In the Federal Awards tab, look at the Audit Finding Ref(s) column.
Confirm that each listed reference exactly matches a row in the Audit Findings tab.
Correct any typos or remove unused references.
Example:
If the Federal Awards tab lists reference 2023-001 but the Audit Findings tab doesn’t include that number, you’ll get this error.
Double-check that all references are consistent and only used where valid.
